Central Focus

In this lesson, students will be introduced to a new art technique called pointillism. Students will be introduced to George Seurat’s paintings and how he used pointillism to create his artwork. Students will then practice pointillism on a prepared line drawing to develop their fine-motor skills.

Art Materials, Tools, & Supplies

1. Red, green, yellow, orange, blue, purple Acrylic paint (in mini cups)

2. Paper Plate

3. Cue Tips

4. Pre-drawn image of apple on 5.5×8.5 paper

Each table will have a plate of 8 cue tips and 4 cups of red, yellow, orange, and green paint.
